Estuary Island Resort is a hidden gem in Poovar, Kerala. Visiting God's Own Country is something one should definitely do in one's lifetime. So this time around I settled on Estuary Island Resort- I'd heard great things about it from my friends who went there last year and the reviews on TripAdvisor clinched the deal.

The location – from all that I’d heard- was wonderful. Apparently, it is where the backwaters meet the estuary, hence the name .And I decided to check it out myself. The location of resort could not have been better. It’s actually pretty amazing. The evenings- oh I still reminisce about the time I spent sitting in gazebo watching the sun set and it was all just wonderful.

Poovar’s main attraction is the Poovar Beach, located a short distance away from the resort. It’s a great place to chill during the evenings.

Talking about food- they have some three-four restaurants! The resort’s flagship restaurant, Ripples is simply wonderful- brilliant ambience and really yummy food.

As far as accommodation goes- they have nice, huge rooms with great views. Talk about room with a view. The rooms were good, all the modern amenities. I visited the spa as well during my week here and found it to be pretty relaxing.

Overall, a pretty good vacation at this beach resort!

A beach holiday made perfect at Estuary Island Resort in Kovalam

I was in the land of coconuts recently for a vacation with my entire family. It’s something we do as a family- all of us take one week leave from our workplaces, and all of us fly down to some place and just spend some quality time together.

So this year we all decided to explore Kerala and we zeroed in on Estuary Island Resort. The amazing reviews on TripAdvisor were an indicator of things to come.

The resort is in a pretty awesome location- on the mouth of an estuary and all the rooms have picturesque views. In a word- dreamy!

But that isn’t even the best part. The resort’s restaurants are truly a delicious force to be reckoned with.

The Sea Food Barbeque restaurant is pretty amazing! I have had my fair share of prawn dishes, but this, Gastronomic bliss. I might just have to keep coming back for their prawn preparation.

And then there’s Ripples- their multi cuisine restaurant. Truly a gourmet experience! Such amazing variety of culinary preparations and each better than the rest.

I think that as far as dining options in Poovar go-Estuary Island Resort is a cut above the rest.

I would definitely return to this place- for the amazing food and their amazing hospitality( which I almost forgot to mention). The staff are professional and efficient group of people, I’ve ever seen- and smiling from ear to ear.

While staying at Estuary Island Resort, I got a chance to see the famous Kerala backwaters first hand and I have to say, I was not disappointed.

Exotic dishes, unusual flavors and delightful ambience make this restaurant a great choice for the safe players! But for those who really want to experiment and try the local cuisines, check out the Sea Food Barbeque Restaurant. The freshest catch, cooked to a perfection- the Malabari way, is served in this open-air restaurant by the waterfront. Being a foodaholic myself, I had a great time at this beach resort in Poovar.

Talking about accommodation, they have nice, specious and airy rooms with a great view of the sea. Depending on your budget, you can choose the premium or garden rooms. If you want some solitude, you can try their cottages which are pretty spacious and well-maintained.
Overall, a pretty good vacation at this beach resort!
